09 / 10 · Keep stored grain dry
Bin Sealing & Waterproofing.
Grain bin foundations sit in the wettest part of your yard. Ground moisture wicks up through unsealed concrete and into your stored grain. Damp grain at the bottom of a bin spoils, becomes a hot spot, and can take the whole bin off-condition. Bin sealing wraps the foundation in a waterproof barrier so your grain stays dry and your bin stays sound.
Why it matters
Damp grain at the bottom of a bin is one of the most expensive problems on a farm. One bin going off-condition costs more than sealing your whole row. Bin sealing is cheap insurance against losing thousands of dollars of grain to ground moisture.
How we do the work
We dig a narrow trench around the perimeter of your existing foundation, apply an asphalt-based waterproof membrane against the concrete, and backfill. If the existing pad has cracks or settling, we repair that first. The whole perimeter becomes a sealed envelope, top to bottom.
Stops rodents too
The gap between the bin pad and the ground is what rodents use to get under your bins. Sealing closes that gap. Less feed loss, less contamination, less stress at harvest.
